Variable vapor space tanks
A variable vapor space tank is designed in a manner to handle the vapor volume fluctuations caused due to barometric pressure and temperature changes. The interior of this tank has a flexible membrane to provide expandable volume. Usually, variable vapor space tanks are used independently but they are also connected to vapor spaces of multiple fixed roof tanks. Variable vapor space tanks are available in two types: lifter roof tanks and flexible diaphragm tanks. Due to the heavy nature of this tank, bridge building equipment is used to move it from one location to another.
Liquefied natural gas tanks
As the name suggests, liquified natural gas (LNG) tanks are made to store liquified natural gas. This type of tank is made to fit above ground level, inside the ground and in LNG carriers. It is designed in a manner where it has two layers, the inner container has LNG and the outer layer has insulation materials. This type of tank can store LNG at a temperature as low as -162°C. Thus making it substantial in all ways.
